Open-air wedding ceremony with all sails set

Wind in your hair, waves gently lapping against the ship’s side and the compass needle pointing in love’s direction. You now have the chance to say ”I do” at sea on the schooner Halmø - one of Denmark's most well-maintained schooners. The beautiful and rustic wooden schooner was built in 1900 and measures 32 meters.

You will share this special wedding day at sea with nine other couples. Halmø will set off from Admiral Kaj in the city centre with all couples aboard and will sail along the coast for three hours.

There is limited space on board. Thus, the wedding ceremony at sea is an intimate experience for the couples, and it will not be possible to bring guests, photographers etc.

A professional photographer will be joining the trip and taking pictures of you if you wish. You will receive one photo afterwards, but you have the option to purchase more.

The ceremonies will take place on deck or below deck, depending on the weather.

You will be served some bubbly, snacks, coffee and cake.

How to book a wedding appointment

To book an appointment, you must first apply for a certificate of marital status. When your application has been approved, you will receive a link to the booking system. Here, you can choose between the available times at the open-air weddings yourself.

Shortly after you have booked your appointment, you will receive a booking confirmation with further details about the day.
